We were recently in Grasse, Arles and Vence, and the weather couldn't have been better.

Impressive marriage between clarities and darknesses.The foreground...A golden sunny river (?)... Like a beautiful compulsory and complementary counterpoint. Essential.
I like how the tops of the majestic big tree(a vegetable church) become clouds! And give the coherence to the whole painting from the lower to the upper level... Mystical elevation...
Very sinusoidal painting like a healthy standard electrocardiogram. The Ventoux (the "Wind-oux") here is the humble breath of life. But essential, too.

Hi Julian Your firm brushstrokes orchestrate this painting. With artful deployment of colour an image springs forth. The clouds race across the sky in contrast to the solid form of the mountain. This, dare I say it, is a very masculine painting. It is certainly an image that foregrounds the control of the artist. Note to Alain ...
